Terms for using Talkshelf, including digital study materials, delivery, refunds, content permissions and support.

Updated 8 November 2026

About Talkshelf and how to contact us

Talkshelf is the video discovery and digital study-material service at https://www.talkshelf.net. “We” refers to the operator of Talkshelf. These terms explain the available service and its usage rules; our Privacy Policy describes related data handling.

For support, content corrections, permissions or privacy requests, email contact@talkshelf.net. Talkshelf provides digital materials and does not ship physical goods.

About these study packs

These independently created learning companions accompany the linked original videos. They are not official courses from, or endorsed by, the original creators, their institutions or HackerTube. The original videos and complete source transcripts are not included in the downloads.

The first five videos were selected by the recommendation score in HackerTube's data snapshot, with the source order retained for ties. The selection is not a ranking of YouTube views or a live trending chart.

Free launch access

The launch collection combines the original five videos and seven Karpathy videos, with eleven distinct videos in total. Each video page shows the materials currently available; planned materials are not presented as complete.

During the free launch offer, prepared English materials in this collection can be opened and downloaded without payment, email or sign-in. No end date has been set and no countdown is displayed. Files already downloaded remain subject to their applicable usage terms.

The live site does not currently offer paid checkout, generation after purchase or automated order emails. The purchase and refund provisions below apply only when the corresponding paid service becomes available; they are not requirements for free access. Presentation materials currently contain a text outline, not a fully designed PPTX.

Sources and attribution

HackerTube supplies the catalog and recommendation context. Video creators and publishers retain rights in their own materials. A catalog's data license does not grant ownership of the underlying videos or transcripts.

Catalog overviews and HN comments

Public video overviews, discussion context and comment-type labels come from the HackerTube data export dated 31 October 2026 and were produced with AI assistance in that source. HN comments retain the exported text and attribution; this site does not generate them as user reviews. The export includes up to 20 selected mentions per video, with text limited to 1,500 characters and links replaced by [VIDEO] or [LINK]. Counts describe this collection, not every HN comment or a live feed. Recommendation, reference, criticism and humor labels may be imperfect. Follow each HN source link for the original discussion and full context.

Content permissions

The How to Speak companion adapts Patrick Winston's MIT OpenCourseWare material and is distributed for noncommercial use under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Its questions and exercises are newly written. Preserve attribution, the license notice and the same-license requirements when sharing adaptations. This edition does not include permission to sell that companion.

Commercial permissions for the other source-dependent companions have not been established. Public access to a video or its presence in HackerTube does not by itself establish a commercial reuse license. A commercial edition requires a separate review of the applicable rights and permissions.

Learning content and formats

The English companions were written with AI assistance using the available captions. They include original practice examples, questions and explanations. Structure, calculations and source time ranges were checked; this is not a claim of expert review or frame-by-frame verification of each video. Consult the source when an explanation appears ambiguous.

The chip-manufacturing talk dates from 2012. Its historical figures and descriptions of then-current technology should not be treated as current industry specifications. Public-speaking advice is presented as practical guidance rather than a universal scientific rule.

The presentation download is an eight-slide text outline with presenter notes. It is not a fully designed PPTX. CSV files can be imported into Anki, which manages its own review schedule.

Progress, downloads and external playback

Quiz answers, edited cards and review dates are stored in this browser's local storage. They are not synchronized between devices. Clearing browser storage may remove them; export edited cards if you want a separate copy.

Video pages may load a YouTube privacy-enhanced player when the page opens, so a connection to YouTube can occur before you press play. Playback and outbound links are subject to the external service’s policies. Downloads contain learning companions, not copies of the source videos or complete transcripts.

Paid services and digital delivery, when enabled

If paid offers become available, the contents, file formats, price, currency, applicable taxes and delivery method will be shown before payment. A purchase will cover one video’s complete study pack as a one-time charge, with no default subscription or renewal. Original video playback will not require a study-pack purchase.

Ready materials will become available online and for download after payment confirmation. Any offer generated after purchase will show an estimated delivery time before payment and provide an order status page and a completion email. A “preparing” label without an active purchase offer does not mean an order has been accepted.

The checkout and receipt will identify the actual seller or payment provider and the applicable transaction terms. Waffo’s buyer terms and privacy policy apply to a transaction only where checkout identifies Waffo as its seller or processor. Talkshelf is not currently collecting payments through Waffo.

Keep any order access link private. Access associated with a fully refunded purchase may end; access may be paused while a payment dispute is investigated.

Refunds, cancellations and delivery problems

Materials are currently available free of charge, so there is no payment to refund for free access. For a broken download or content issue, contact contact@talkshelf.net and include the video or material link.

Once paid services are enabled, contact the same address about duplicate or incorrect charges, non-delivery, unusable files or a material mismatch with the purchase description. Include the order reference, purchase email and problem description; never send card numbers, security codes or passwords. We will review the order and arrange a correction, replacement delivery or an applicable refund. A refund can be requested if delivery cannot be completed.

To cancel a paid order before delivery, contact support promptly with the order reference. If Waffo is the seller, you may also request a refund through the receipt and Waffo’s buyer terms. Its current policy allows refund requests within 120 days of delivery and provides for approved refunds to the original payment method within 14 business days. Approval depends on the issue and applicable terms; this is not an unconditional refund guarantee.

No download, cancellation or refund provision excludes mandatory consumer rights under applicable law. Any consent needed for immediate delivery of digital content, and any effect on cancellation rights, will be explained separately before payment. Reading this page does not provide that consent.

Acceptable use and material rights

Use materials for learning under the license supplied with each item; applicable open licenses take precedence. Unless a license or applicable law permits it, do not resell materials, remove attribution or license notices, or present them as official courses from the video’s creator. Do not bypass access controls, disrupt the service or misuse another person’s order credentials.

If you are a rights holder and believe content infringes your rights, send the specific page, the basis of your rights and a way to contact you. We will review the report and correct, restrict or remove content as appropriate.

Availability and changes

Learning materials may contain errors, external videos may be removed and maintenance may interrupt access. We do not guarantee a particular learning outcome, qualification or uninterrupted availability. This does not limit delivery or applicable refund obligations for accepted paid orders, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We will update the date on this page when these terms change. Material changes affecting purchased services will be communicated using available order contact details. Later edits to this page do not retroactively remove the delivery commitments or consumer rights disclosed at purchase. English and Chinese versions are provided for convenience; differences do not reduce applicable consumer rights.
