Privacy Policy

How Talkshelf handles browser learning records, analytics, embedded videos, support requests and future purchase information.

Updated 8 November 2026

Who this policy covers

This policy covers Talkshelf at https://www.talkshelf.net and explains how the operator of Talkshelf handles information when you browse videos, use study tools or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@talkshelf.net.

Current free access

You can browse videos and use available launch materials without an account, an email address or payment. Paid checkout, generation after purchase and automated order emails are not enabled on the live site. We do not currently collect card details or create paid orders through the site.

Learning records on your device

Your language choice, saved videos, viewing history, quiz answers, edited flashcards and review dates are stored in your browser’s local storage. The current study tools do not upload these answers or edits to our server or an AI service, and they do not synchronize between devices.

You can remove these records by clearing site data in your browser. Export cards or other downloads first if you want to keep a copy. Blocking browser storage may prevent saved preferences and progress from working.

Hosting and technical information

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Visiting it sends technical information such as your IP address, browser information and requested URLs to the hosting network to deliver content, manage traffic and protect the service. Cloudflare may process technical logs and security signals under its own policies.

Do not put private information in search text or page URLs. Some request information can be visible to hosting or network providers even when it is not included in our analytics events.

Analytics and cookies

The production site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand public page visits, play-button clicks and study-tool use. Google may process device and browser information, identifiers, usage data and cookies under its policies. These tools are not described as anonymous or cookie-free.

Our site-defined analytics events exclude email addresses, order access keys, raw search text, quiz answers and edited flashcard content. Local previews do not send production analytics events.

You can manage cookies and site data in your browser, block analytics scripts, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site currently has no separate in-page cookie preference panel.

YouTube, thumbnails and external links

Video thumbnails are requested from YouTube’s image servers. Video pages can load a YouTube privacy-enhanced embed from youtube-nocookie.com when opened, before you press play. These connections disclose technical request information to Google/YouTube; privacy-enhanced mode does not mean no third-party processing.

Playback and links to YouTube, Hacker News, source websites and payment providers use services outside our control. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

Information you send to support

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond, troubleshoot issues, handle rights requests and keep a necessary support record. Our email forwarding and mailbox providers process those messages to deliver and store them. Support requests do not subscribe you to marketing.

Send only information needed for your request. Do not send payment-card numbers, security codes, passwords or private access links.

Purchases, if enabled later

Before paid checkout is enabled, the checkout will identify its seller or payment provider and any additional data required. Order information may include a delivery email, product, payment status and order reference for fulfillment, access recovery, refunds and support. Payment-card information will be handled by the checkout provider; Talkshelf will not store full card numbers or security codes.

If a checkout identifies Waffo as the seller or processor, Waffo’s privacy policy also applies to its handling of that transaction. Its inclusion here does not mean Waffo checkout is currently available. Order emails, if enabled, will be transactional, not automatic marketing enrollment.

Purposes, sharing and international processing

We use information to provide the requested service, answer support requests, understand site usage and protect against misuse. We do not sell personal information. Providers supporting hosting, analytics, video playback and email may process the information described above. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or needed to protect rights and service security.

Providers may process information outside your country. Their policies describe their processing locations and safeguards. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, service and support processing relates to the requested service; necessary security and operations relate to legitimate interests; legal records relate to legal obligations; optional processing requiring consent must rely on that consent. Browser controls and this policy do not themselves constitute consent.

Retention and your choices

Browser-only learning records remain on your device until you clear them or the browser removes them. Downloaded files remain under your control. We keep support correspondence only as needed to handle the request, resolve follow-up issues and meet applicable record-keeping obligations; provider retention is governed by the relevant provider’s policy.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing, withdraw any consent you have given, or complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact contact@talkshelf.net so we can assess your request. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify ownership of an email or order. We cannot retrieve or delete browser-only learning records remotely.

Security and intended audience

We use HTTPS and restrict access to nonpublic resources, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep any future purchase access links private and report suspected access problems to us.

Talkshelf is intended for a general learning audience and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate.

Policy changes

We will update the date above when our practices change. Material changes affecting paid customers, if any, will be communicated through available order contact details. Before adding accounts, new payment processing or uses of learning records, we will update the relevant disclosures.
